Canada’s First Dementia Strategy!

The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Canada’s Minister of Health, announced the release of Canada’s first dementia strategy – A Dementia Strategy for Canada: Together We Aspire.  The announcement also included funding for Phase Two of Canada’s largest national dementia research initiative, the  Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA). Baycrest is now the scientific headquarters of the CCNA.

Congratulations to all who contributed to this important work, and continue to do so, such as Dr. William Reichman, President and CEO, Baycrest, who is the co-chair of the Ministerial Advisory Board on Dementia, and Dr. Samir Sinha, Director of Geriatrics at Sinai Health Systems and University Health Network, Toronto. The RGP of Toronto is proud to have these organizations as network members.
