Toronto HomeShare Pilot

We are proud to be a member of the Toronto Seniors Strategy Accountability Table to advocate for community programs and services which would improve the lives of frail older adults.  We are also a member of the working group to implement one of the recommendations in Toronto’s Seniors Strategy 2.0; the Toronto HomeShare Pilot Project. What is the Toronto HomeShare Pilot? Older adults who have a spare room are paired to host a university or college student for a semester. In exchange for reduced rental costs the student provides approximately 5-7 hours/week contributing to the dynamics of the home. This could include sharing a meal together, helping with light chores, running errands or walking a pet.
