What is health equity? What does health equity look like in older adult populations?

Part 5 of the Health Equity Learning Series entitled “Indigenous Older Adults” is a storytelling-based presentation where participants will have the opportunity to learn about the importance and roles that elders have in First Nations communities and how these experiences are not reflected in their interactions with the healthcare system. The presenter will share stories stemming from his community and personal experiences when working and engaging with elders both Indigenous and non-Indigenous and provide recommendations that healthcare providers can utilize to enhance the healthcare experience of Indigenous elders.

This learning session is presented by Alex Allard-Gray. Alex hails from the Listuguj Mi’gmaq First Nation and works as the Outreach Administrator with the Indigenous Health Professions Program at McGill University. He completed his B.Sc. at McGill, where he was a founder and later acted as president of the McGill Canadian Indigenous Science and Engineering Society.
